Just Relax

What I Do on Lazy Days (Sunday or Not!)

For starters, I pretty much shut myself out from the outside world; which means phone off! I've had a long and exhausting week and all I want to do is have a bit of peace. A mental health day is what one of my friends calls it; a time to revive yourself.
To reach serenity you have to get as comfortable as possible! I usually go for sweatpants, a worn, rugged sweatshirt and slippers (you obviously want to dress appropriately for the weather). Whatever you're most comfortable in is what we're aiming for!
In order to be at complete ease, I do whatever clears my mind most. Whether it be getting lost in a entrancing book, or catching up on my shows (side note: I've just started watching Gossip Girl, and I can't believe it has taken me so long to get into the show. I'm obsessed! I'm still on season one; but hopefully I'll be caught up by the time season six rolls around on October 8th).
One cannot be tranquil with a growling stomach! Treat yourself with some sweets! You deserve it after the week you've just gone through! Brownies, cupcakes, Haribo gummy bears! For my salty keen people, chips and dip is never a bad choice! And don't forget the popcorn!!
All there's left to do is find a comfy spot on the couch, and take pleasure in your day of relaxation! You deserve it.

For those who have just started off the week and need a mental health already (like me! This Monday was worse than they usually are), have this as a way to motivate you to push through the week. Hang in there; your mental health day is coming sooner than you think!

Back To School: Organizing

September is nearing, signaling back to school. I can't wait for my junior year to start; I'm aware it's the most important year of high school and I believe I'm ready to take on all the challenges this year will bring me.
In fact, I'm so excited that I've been planning out my organization and learning new study tricks. My new big thing for this year will definitely be sticky notes to list any sort of reminder for myself. So what are my back to school necessities? (Know that these might not be good for you, just sharing how I do it!)

I think the agenda is a bit obvious. Record all homework/tests/quizzes in it.

You have three papers and a project due on the same day. And to top it off, you have a huge test the day before. Here's the catch: They're two weeks ahead of now. I like to jot down everything and having it out in front of me so I don't forget. I don't do this in my agenda because I may forget to look back and see when I first wrote it, or to continue writing it on each page. All in all, invest if you feel like it would help (which it dose!).

Have a quick thing you need to remind yourself with? Post-it! They come in fun colors and they're helpful.

I like highlighting the important things in my notes. Also if something important is coming up, I whip out the highlighter! It's actually very big to help with organization.

What are your back to school essentials?

Packing!

This weekend I'm heading down to Virginia to visit some family and to go to a festival!
A trip could only bring you to one thing: Packing!
I for one am an over packer! My family and I are going to be in VA for just three days and I'm packing for a week! What can i say, I love my options.
For starters, everyone needs a good bag! Whether it's a weekender or a full on suitcase; the cuter the better. The one I'm bringing on this trip is my L.L. Bean duffle bag.  Personally, I love this bag; it's simple yet cute and comfortable on the shoulder! Also, because it's a navy rather than the crisp white, dirt won't really show.
When it comes to physically packing, I think it's best to start off by asking yourself questions. Where are you going? How long will you be there? What's the purpose of the trip? The one most important thing to know is the weather!! Find out how it will be and dress accordingly! I cannot stress this enough; you don't want to go touring in NY thinking it'll be nice and sunny when it's pouring rain.
Once you know everything about your trip, make a list. Jot down all the little things you might forget to pack; such as deodorant. I can't tell you how many time's I've traveled without some toiletry that I needed most (thank the heavens for drugstores!).
Now that you've got everything planned out, pack! Whether you put outfits together , or just stack it all up.
If all fails or you don't have time for planning, throw random stuff in your bag and pray that it works out.

Change

Change is something many people are afraid of, whether it be changing your room around, or changing your daily morning routine.I however love change. If things remain the same for too long I become bored and a bit angst-y. A lot in the past year and a half or so changed me. For starters, I'm a sucker for anything preppy. The whole classic look is so darling!
Also, I'm definitely not as frivolous when it comes to school. I was a decent student the past two years, but I always knew I could push myself harder and be the absolute best. Now school is all I care about! By come August 29th I will be a junior in high school. I've never been so excited to go back!
Lastly, my slacking has cut down a lot. I'm aware that not all things come to you, and you have to work hard to see results for anything. To say I work my butt off to get the things I want, would be an understatement. Work hard and good things will come to you. I promise.
So when change comes knocking on your door, open it. What lay's on the other side may just be something you need most.

Leopard Obsessed

My Steve Madden Croquetl loafers just came in the mail! I ordered them on Monday August 13th and I just got them today. It only took two days to ship and I'm very impressed.
The shoe is made of calf fur and runs about half a size smaller. I'm usually an eight but I bought these in an eight and a half. The price for this fabulous shoe is $79.95. I, however, was able to get my hands on them literally a few minutes before their 30% off sale on new arrivals ended. I can't remember how much they were down to the last cent; but I want to say $55.95. With shipping the total wound up to $62.97! Pretty good for a very nice pair of loafers if you ask me!
These shoes are currently back to its original price; but I do think that everyone should try to invest in a pair. Whether you get leopard print flats, loafers, or oxfords; they go great with more than you'd think.
I know that these may be out of some people's price range, and I found a pair similar to the Croquetl loafers from target for a lot less!
To go with the shoes, I'm eyeing this leopard calf fur belt.
As you can see, I'm kind of obsessed; but hey, a little leopard won't hurt anyone. At least the print, not the actual animal.

Erm.. Hello?

Yes, I'm still alive! Just a quick update! I will be writing more tomorrow! :)
